Our Story

Mosaic ETA was co-founded by Julien Ham-Ying and Eduardo Zaldivar, after the two met pursuing MBA’s at Stanford Graduate School of Business. From their investing experience, education, and unique personal perspectives, they realized the best businesses are built with diverse entrepreneurs.

Mosaic ETA was incubated at Stanford University under the guidance of search fund pioneers including Peter B. Kelly and is part of a vision to generate superior financial returns while fostering a more inclusive economy. Together, they aim to reduce the wealth gap for diverse communities by investing in search funds lead by women and people of color.

Meet the Team

Julien’s passion for supporting underrepresented groups was instilled by his father, who provides healthcare to low-income communities. After starting his career in healthcare investment banking and private equity, Julien pursued an MBA to expand pathways for diversity in high-impact careers.

An alum of two of the largest national leadership development networks for people for color, Julien seeks to provide others the access & support that empowered him. Julien’s expertise includes healthcare investing, financial modeling, and due diligence.

Julien holds an MBA from Stanford GSB and a Bachelors of Arts in Economics and Spanish from Yale University.

Born to a Mexican immigrant mother who had no option but to start her own blue collar businesses to provide for her family, Eduardo has been passionate about entrepreneurship his whole life.

A Founder of the Hispanic Search Network, Eduardo has experience both as a startup operator and as an investor in multiple asset classes, from early stage venture capital to software private equity. Eduardo’s expertise includes SaaS investing, technology implementation, and strategy consulting.

Eduardo holds an MBA from Stanford GSB, an MPA from Harvard Kennedy School, and a Bachelors of Science in Management Information Systems from Texas A&M University.
