About Us
Who We Are
Our advisors and limited partners include entrepreneurship-through-acquisition (ETA) luminaries such as TTCER (the founding team of Asurion, the highest returning search deal in history), Peter Kelly (ETA Lecturer at Stanford & author of the Search Fund Study), renowned search fund CEOs, Managing Partners from some of the longest established private equity firms, and many of the most active ETA investors who’ve collectively invested in over 200 search-acquired companies over the course of 30+ years.
There are two powerful, intersecting trends that make this the perfect moment to launch Mosaic.
One, we’re on the verge of the “Silver Tsunami”, the largest wealth transfer in history, with Baby Boomers set to pass on nearly $10 trillion of value in business ownership over the next 20 years. And two, the field of ETA is at an inflection point - the number of searches launched tripled from 2013 to 2021 and has doubled again since. This combination creates a once-in-a-generation opportunity for Mosaic ETA to empower underrepresented people through ETA while generating the outsized returns of the search fund model (aggregate IRR of 35% over 40+ years according to Stanford research).
Why Now?
We invest in companies through a model known as entrepreneurship-through-acquisition (ETA). ETA is where an individual (often referred to as a “searcher”) partners with an investor group to search for, acquire, and operate a small to medium-sized business with the goal of growing and improving it.
We first partner with the searcher alongside other investors to provide strategic + financial support during the searching and acquisition phase. Once the right business is found, the searcher goes back to the initial investor group who then acquire the company. The searcher becomes CEO and gains equity ownership in the company as they achieve certain milestones.
For more information on how the model works and why it has outperformed other asset classes, read our article featured in Forbes: An Introduction To Entrepreneurship-Through-Acquisition And The Secrets To Its Success.

Meet the Team
Julien’s passion for supporting underrepresented communities was instilled by his father, who dedicated his career to providing healthcare to low-income populations. Inspired by his father’s work in healthcare, Julien began his career in healthcare investment banking at J.P. Morgan and healthcare private equity at TPG Capital. In both roles, he worked on transformative transactions across all verticals of healthcare, ranging from Monogram Health’s $160M Series B fundraise to GE Healthcare’s $20B sale of its BioPharma division. Beyond his deal work, he was committed to mentorship and community-building for underrepresented professionals within his teams.
Julien is a member of the National Leadership Council of SEO (Sponsors for Educational Opportunity), one of the nation’s largest leadership development networks for diverse talent. Through this role, he seeks to expand access and support for the next generation of leaders, just as others once did for him.
Julien holds an MBA from Stanford Graduate School of Business, where he was named an Arjay Miller Scholar, and a bachelor’s degree from Yale University.
Co-Founder & Managing Partner
Born to an immigrant mother with only a middle school education who had no option but to start her own small businesses to provide for her family, Eduardo has been passionate about entrepreneurship his whole life.
Eduardo started his career in ETA, helping scale a searcher-acquired company from 13 to 50+ employees in 2 years. Before returning to the ETA space to launch Mosaic, he gained experience investing across multiple asset classes. His experiences include being a founding team member of a venture capital firm with over $100M in AUM, working at a lower-middle-market software private equity firm, and most recently working on the PE & VC fund of funds team at a large asset allocator ($40B AUM) that manages the capital of prominent families, foundations, and endowments.
Eduardo keeps his operating skills sharp by volunteering in the nonprofit world. He is the founder of the Hispanic Search Network (a community for ETA operators and investors), chairman of the Anchor Retreat (a faith-driven retreat for MBA students from top schools), and serves with his local church.
Eduardo holds an MBA from Stanford Graduate School of Business, an MPA from Harvard Kennedy School, and a bachelor’s from Texas A&M University.
